Usually, New Englanders don’t complain much about the cold.  It’s winter, after all, and you get used to it.  They also don’t complain much about the snow.

Looking down from the top of the pasture today, the farm had a real Currier and Ives look to it with smoke from the wood stove billowing out of the chimney.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with peace, love and a lot less stress.

Known to the AKC as Christmas Star, everyone has always called her Christina.

Last week was a beautiful December week. A little snow brightened the landscape. There was some gorgeous light, both from the Cold Moon in the sky-the last full moon of the year- and from the morning light that streamed through the windows.

Molinia arundinacea ‘skyracer’ is such a beautiful and elegant grass against the white snow.

It was a privilege to collaborate once again with writer Robin Sweetser on this feature for the Nov/Dec issue of New Hampshire Home magazine.

I took a walk around the garden at the beginning of the first “real” snow of the season on Tuesday.  

An early snow brightened the landscape during Thanksgiving week.

November is still a good time to get out into the woods and grab some photos, whether you have just a phone or small camera in your pocket or a backpack full of gear.
