Excitement In The Air

Last week was a beautiful December week. A little snow brightened the landscape. There was some gorgeous light, both from the Cold Moon in the sky-the last full moon of the year- and from the morning light that streamed through the windows. The Cold Moon seemed aptly named because there were some very cold mornings where a cozy blanket and a fire in the woodstove were greatly appreciated. The resident squirrels who were wearing their thick, grey winter coats also seemed thankful for our long standing interest in feeding the birds. A few baubles and bangles started to appear here and there as well as a wreath on the door. All pretty good indications that Christmas was not that far away and that we better get our act together.
