No Rest

Usually, New Englanders don’t complain much about the cold.  It’s winter, after all, and you get used to it.  They also don’t complain much about the snow.  They have lived here long enough to know that it’s better to just embrace it and learn how to have fun in the snow.  But, one thing that really does stick in the craw of New Englanders is a winter warm up that brings rain on top of the snow.  The warm up never lasts and in a day or two, when the temperature drops back to its normal winter level, all that beautiful white fluffy snow now becomes just one big chunk of treacherous ice.  Today was one of those winter warm up days and as the temp oscillated up and down around the freezing point, ice formed everywhere: on trees, power lines driveways, and shoveled sidewalks.
