Graceful Grass

Molinia arundinacea ‘skyracer’ is such a beautiful and elegant grass against the white snow. Its tall slender stalks and seed heads take on a veil-like appearance through which the broader landscape is revealed. And, it looks great in the snow when adjacent to other perennials that have been left standing for the winter. It’s beautiful winter-yellow color and delicate way of dancing in the slightest breeze perfectly illustrate the reason why we leave most of our grasses uncut and standing throughout the winter.
