Cabbage Season

For the most part, it’s the end of the gardening year, although I must admit I find winter gardens every bit as beautiful as those bursting forth with a lot of color during the summer. But, when it does come to garden color, just about the only thing providing any of it in our garden right now are the colorful purple and blue decorative cabbages. So, in some sort of cosmic ying and yang way, one of the least appealing vegetables for me to consume redeems itself in the end with its beauty.
