As this narrow little trail circles through woodland at the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge in Wells, Maine it provides many open vistas for enjoying views of the tidal marsh that provides a home to so many species of birds and wildlife.
These naturally wavy "guard rails" along the trail quickly captured my attention.
The guard rails curved right around a bend and over a bridge that used short, thin boards as top rails. The natural bending and warping of these top rails only contributed to the organic wavy look of the wooden rails along the trail.
One last curve in the trail.
